Our Birthday Boy
My son has officially turned into a "big boy". I figured that I could baby him until he turned 5, so now I guess I have to stop. Jacob turned five on Friday, and we celebrated with his good friends at Pizza Hut. He had a "Wall-E" cake - which beat out a Cheetah Girls cake (thank goodness)!
Jacob was quite the ladies man at his party...Jentry was really getting a kick out of whatever it is he was saying. Here are a few pictures from his party...eating pizza, eating cake, and opening presents.
All in all, it was a great party, and he has enjoyed being five for a whole day. Lynzee and Allyson didn't get to come because of Lynzee's volleyball game, so he went to spend the night at there house last night (as a special treat). I am about to go pick him up. I can't believe he is five; I am feeling pretty old right now.

Jacob's Faces
Jacob really likes to use the camera and to get his picture taken. He likes to make goofy faces! This is what I think they mean...
My mom didn't get to the pharmacy yesterday before they closed. I don't get my Singulair, and that is not good since I am allergic to everything. My mom doesn't get her meds either which is REALLY NOT GOOD for someone that deals with an anxiety problem. So, the first thing she did (when she realized that she wouldn't get any meds from Saturday until Monday during her conference time) was have anxiety about it. Not a good deal. Let's pray that she doesn't have a panic attack!!! (Seriously, let's pray for her)!

I hate it when my kids are sick...
You know the most helpless feeling as a parent? When your kids are sick or hurting and there is nothing you can do about it. Haleigh came home sick from school yesterday with Mark, so today is my turn to stay with her. She is running a fever, she has a really bad headache, and she is throwing up. When we were in the bathroom a while ago she said (in a teary voice) "I don't like throwing up mama". She said it to me like she wanted me to fix it - but I can't. That is an awful feeling. I cannot take it away from her. Hopefully she will start to feel better really soon.
On a side note...about 6 weeks ago or so we decided to cut back our tv programming to the "basics" in an effort to watch less television. It has really helped me and Mark to spend more time with the kids instead of watching endless hours of reality tv (me) and fishing shows (Mark). However, in our cut back, we lost ESPN. It was really okay until yesterday. The Broncos were playing the Raiders (I hate them) last night on Monday Night Football (on ESPN). Well, needless to say, I didn't get to see the Broncos victory over the Raiders. At least the Broncos are off to a good start just as the Cowboys are. I am so glad the NFL has made a return!

Do you ever wonder...
Do you ever wonder what is going on in the mind of your children? I do - all the time. Well, Jacob likes to take random pictures with my camera, and I let him (and then usually delete them later). I guess I caught a little glimpse into his mind as I was looking through the 48 pictures he took last night. I thought these pictures were too funny to not mention and show them!
This is a picture he took of a picture on the wall of him, Haleigh, and Morgan. So funny.
And yet another. This is one of my favorite pictures of him. He was still my sweet little baby boy back then. Not so much a baby anymore :(
Then he turned to my crosses hanging on the wall next to the pictures!
A picture of one of his readers. He also took a picture of the last page, but it turned out really blurry!
This is what I thought was so funny. We are all very interested in this new show on NBC called "America's Toughest Jobs", and he took several pictures of the tv while we were watching it. You can see that our living room also serves as a dining room! I can't wait to move out of this small house - we are running out of room, and I am tired of the mice! Thanks Jacob for some very interesting pictures. I love the mind of a four year old! I just love my children.
